PINOYPRINTMAKERS

How we began

The PAP in its four decades of existence continues to bring art to the people with its multi-original prints, exhibiting and holding workshops to promote the art form and subsequently to democratize art.
It was founded in 1968 through the pioneering efforts of Manuel Rodriguez, Sr., along with Adiel Arevalo and other printmakers he mentored. It has since become the prime mover of graphic arts in the country.

Philosophy

The association, aware of the many benefits of the art form, took the mission to promote, develop and uplift creative interest in printmaking and establish it as major visual arts medium in the Philippines.  The countless projects and programs that the PAP embarked on later proved to be of significant contribution to Philippine arts and culture.

Our Work

Printmaking is the art of producing printed images on paper. It involves a process of transferring an image or design from a plate (a prepared surface) onto paper for the purpose of artistic expression.
Printmaking techniques include woodcut, wood engraving, linocut, etching, metal engraving, collograph, serigraph, and lithograph among
others.
